San Diego State University sits atop Montezuma Mesa in the 92115 zip code. There are several residential communities in the areas surrounding and around SDSU that are great places to live and make your home (for Faculty, Staff and Students.)
Immediately to the west of campus you will find the neighborhoods of College West and Alvarado Estates. College West consists of single family homes and street parking is by permit only to deter student parking. Many of the homes are either on canyons or culdesacs. To the North of campus across the 8 freeway you will find the neighborhoods of Allied Gardens to the northwest and San Carlos to the northeast. Directly East of Campus are the communities of College East and Alvarado Road. College East is mostly single family housing while Alvarado features more townhomes, condos and apartments as well as easy access to the trolley and Alvarado hospital. South East of the University you will find the historic neighborhood of Rolando Village and Rolando Park which hosts an annual street fair. To the South you will find the communities of El Cerrito and Redwood Village which extend south to Oak Park.
All of these neighborhoods provide proximity and access to San Diego State University. If you are working at SDSU, these communities will provide easy access and a short commute to campus. Additionally there are many programs to support parents looking to purchase SDSU student housing for their dependent student.
